MRI Assistant - NH NeuroSpine Bedford - Full Time

About the Job:

Acts as a representative in all areas of clerical support. Assumes responsibility for all facets of front desk operations, including greeting and registering patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and entering patient demographics. Retrieving and updating medical records and performing general clerical and other duties as assigned in accordance with NCQA and government standards, as well as policies and procedures of Diagnostic Imaging. Calls MRI patients prior to appointment to obtain information to complete MRI screening form. Research patient operation reports and surgical implants for MRI compatibility to provide needed information for the Radiologist to approve MRI to proceed or not.

What You’ll Do:

• Communicates with the patient prior to MRI appointment
• Completes MRI screening form on each patient at least 48 hours prior to appointment when possible
• Communicates with Physician Offices to obtain previous imaging studies for comparison if needed
• Answers incoming telephone calls from patients, central booking, doctor's offices, hospital staff, screens them and responds courteously and/or refers individual to the appropriate person
• Prints MRI orders to scan into PACS

Who You Are:

• High School or Equivalent, Required
• 3 years related experience, Required
• Experience with EPIC, Preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively
