Who We Are:

Elliot Health System’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provide individual and group-based treatment of co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. PHP and IOP are for individuals who need care that is more intensive than individual outpatient programs but not as intensive as residential treatment. Depending on their role, staff can provide case coordination, assist participants in accessing community-based services, provide medication management, evaluate participants for medical issues, and more. The teams coordinate closely with primary care providers on a biweekly basis to ensure that all aspects of patients’ wellbeing and health are addressed appropriately.

About the Job:

Assists providers in the administration of patient care in assigned clinical areas. Assists with patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, treatment, and dressing changes. Performs general administrative duties in accordance with JCAHO, CLIA, NCQA and government standards, as well as company policies and procedures.

What You’ll Do:

  • Performs visit chart preparation activities based on the daily scheduled appointments including diagnostic test results, emergency/urgent care reports, discharge summaries and consult/PCP reports are located in the medical record and accessible to the provider
  • Performs rooming activities for provider visits according to the documented rooming criteria including chief complaint, allergies, vital signs, medication list review, tobacco history, LMP, health maintenance overrides and documentation in a timely and accurate manner
  • Obtains and documents age and/or condition-specific measurements accurately including vital signs, height, weight, head circumference, peak flow, and pulse oximetry
  • Documents using clear, concise and professional written skills

Who You Are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Required
  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program, Required
  • 1-3 years of experience, Preferred
  • Ability to obtain CPR Certification within first 90 days and maintain while in position, Required
