The inpatient pharmacy department is comprised of pharmacists and technicians working collaboratively to provide safe, timely and effective medication therapy to our patients. We operate a decentralized model for both medication distribution utilizing Omnicell automation, as well as clinically with pharmacists dedicated to the teams on our nursing units. About the Job
To provide patient care and optimal therapeutic outcomes through the provision of oncology pharmaceutical care and clinical pharmacy services.
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for ensuring the safety in the compounding and dispensing of chemotherapy, minimizing drug waste, minimizing unnecessary exposure to hazardous drugs, and managing costs for cancer drugs.
- Works within and enforces New Hampshire drug laws with the respect to controlled substances.
- Work collaboratively with other health care professionals to develop guidelines and make evidence-based decisions designed to improve patient care.
- Participate on committees to improve the safety, efficacy, and quality of cancer care and are heavily relied upon to develop policies and implement programs to ensure safety of staff and patients during the receipt, preparation, administration, and monitoring of anticancer agents.
- Provide clinical guidance and medication management on common patient complications.
- Participate in development of educational materials and programs for providers detailing the medications used to treat cancer and its complications.
- Participate in development of educational materials and programs for patients/caregivers.
- Responsible for the direct supervision and oversight of pharmacy technicians.
- Participates in pharmacy training programs including residency and student precepting.
What You’ll Need
Professional Pharmacy Bachelors Degree required. Pharm D Degree preferred. Board Certification in Oncology preferred.
One (1) year previous pharmacy experience required; pharmacy practice residency or oncology pharmacy residency preferred.
Current New Hampshire license to practice Pharmacy or eligibility required.
Epic Beacon Oncology Module; Epic Willow Inpatient Module highly preferred.
