Program Manager - New England EMS Institute - 1070 Hole Ave Manchester NH (Fully onsite)

Full Time 40 hours a week, primarily days but some classes run early evening. Must be Flexible.

About the Job

Responsible for the organizational and financial management of the New England EMS Institute. Plans,

organizes and directs activities related to EMS Education within the environment of care for Elliot

Hospital and Elliot Health System. Other duties include maintaining the educational standards that are

required for local, state, and national entities.

What You’ll Need

Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree is preferred. Current National Registry Paramedic, State of NH Paramedic, and State of NH I/C license all required.

The following AHA Certification are also required:

Provider: BLS, ACLS, PALS Instructor: Core Curriculum, BLS, ACLS, PALS

Candidates must maintain an active and valid driver's license and current DOT Medical Examiners Certification for the duration of the position. Motor Vehicle Record check required.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborates with Elliot Director of Accreditation to ensure preparation and planning for all

accreditations, reporting requirements and any other enhancements are completed on time for

successful accreditations.

• Prepares annual budget and monthly budget reports so as to identify and address variances in a proactive manner.

• Prepares and teaches a minimum of at least one paramedic program course per academic year.

(Teaching assignments may include day, evenings, weekends, online, and offsite locations.)

• Works closely with the local and state emergency medical communities and advisory board in

implementing and maintaining a quality program.

• Ensures knowledge level is kept current at all times regarding the most recent current versions

of the National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Education Standards, and about

evidenced-informed clinical practice.

• Interviews and selects candidates for employment. Orients, trains, directs and assigns work of

subordinates. Outlines scope of authority and job responsibilities of employees under

supervision. Initiates personnel actions. Prepares and conducts formal/informal performance

evaluations and recommends merit increases for employees under supervision. Recruits,

interviews, and recommends candidates for Paramedic program.

• Develops and implements short- and long-term strategic plan, as well as business plans aimed at increasing enrollments and net revenue for Institute.

• Assists EMS Educators in courses, both lecture and practical, including, but not limited to,

American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

• Acts as Training Center Faculty or Regional Faculty for either PALS or ACLS for the Elliot Hospital.

• Acts as the Chapter head for International Trauma Life Support (ITLS), New Hampshire.

Coordinates all activities that pertain to ITLS including, but not limited to, record keeping, course

completion, card distribution, course authorization, and instructor development.

• Coordinates and facilitates advanced level NREMT testing if required.

• Maintains accreditation standards established by all applicable agencies including the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. Maintains licensing standards established by the New Hampshire Post Secondary Education. Responsible for maintaining standards established by the United States Department of Education for Financial Aid. Serves as the Financial Aid Administrator for Institute. Responsible for adherence to all requirements set forth in the CAAHEP Standards and Guidelines manual, Standard III.B.1.a. "Program Director Responsibilities". Ensures NEEMSI programs comply with accreditation standards and certification requirements. Leads accreditation self-study and quality assurance program efforts.

• Chairs and/or participates in committees and other activities pertaining to the EMS Institute,

i.e., the Paramedic Advisory Board. Conducts and coordinates meetings with program advisory board committee per policy.
