Job Description

The Finance Intern is a paid System Administration internship program, which is an opportunity to learn back-end operations in a hands-on setting including, but not limited to, financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting activity, while working alongside Finance and Accounting team members. This intern opportunity will allow for exposure to the health system’s training and onboarding structure for newly hired administrative staff. The incumbent will work with various departments within Finance to gain valuable experience and knowledge of working in a healthcare organization, such as assisting in tasks with Accounts Payable, Corporate Finance, Budgeting, and data analysis.The Finance Intern will support the mission, vision and values of SolutionHealth.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in financial analysis and reporting tasks, including data collection, consolidation, and interpretation of financial data.

  • Support the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts under the guidance of Finance staff.

  • Conduct research on financial trends, regulations, and industry best practices to inform decision-making processes.

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and reconciliation.

  • Collaborate with team members on special projects, such as cost-saving initiatives, process improvements, and financial modeling.

  • Participate in departmental meetings and discussions to gain exposure to various financial processes and strategies. Provide general administrative support to the Finance department, including data entry.

Position Qualifications:

Education:

Student enrolled in a degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

Knowledge Necessary -

Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data accurately.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
