Southern New Hampshire Health has been a cornerstone of the region since 1893, delivering high-quality, compassionate care close to home. Anchored by Southern New Hampshire Medical Center—a 188-bed, DNV-accredited hospital in downtown Nashua with a Level III-N trauma center, Level II Special Care Nursery, and Magnet® designation for nursing excellence—we offer a full spectrum of services from primary care to advanced diagnostics and specialized treatments. Our medical staff includes over 500 providers from Foundation Medical Partners and local practices. Foundation Medical Partners, our multi-specialty group, spans 70+ practices across southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts, providing coordinated, patient-centered care to thousands each year.
Pediatrics Unit
The Pediatrics unit is an 8-bed inpatient unit serving newborns through adolescents. The patient population includes children with viral and respiratory illnesses, diabetes, and post-operative care needs. The team provides family-centered care in a supportive, developmentally appropriate environment.
The Pediatrics department collaborates closely with pediatric specialists from Massachusetts General Hospital for Children to ensure access to advanced expertise and high-quality care. When appropriate, the unit also cares for adult patients to support hospital capacity and patient needs.
Special Care Nursery (SCN)
The Special Care Nursery is a 9-bassinet, Level II nursery caring for infants 32+ weeks gestation and weighing 1,500 grams or more. The SCN supports newborns requiring specialized care for conditions such as respiratory distress, temperature instability, and feeding and growth challenges.
The unit provides Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) screening in collaboration with Boston Children’s Hospital and maintains a strong partnership with the Massachusetts General Hospital NICU for consultation and care coordination.
