About the Job:
The Medical Assistant II is a key member of our clinical team, responsible for performing delegated clinical and administrative functions in the care of patients under the direct supervision of a provider and practice manager. This role supports patient care in-person, via telephone, and through telehealth modalities.
What You’ll Do:
Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and immunizations
Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection/handling
Document procedures, interventions, and patient communications accurately
Assist with pre-visit preparation and patient outreach
Communicate provider instructions and care plans to patients
Mentor and train new staff and serve as a role model for the clinical support team
Perform administrative duties such as medical records and patient service tasks
Adhere to safety, infection control, HIPAA, and confidentiality standards
Maintain current certifications and participate in ongoing education
Who You Are / Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
Completion of a medical assisting program and clinical externship
Current BLS/CPR certification
Certification or registration by AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT
At least 2 years of experience as a clinical medical assistant
Working knowledge of medical terminology, safety, and infection control
Strong interpersonal, time management, and computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree
3+ years of experience as a clinical medical assistant
Experience in expanded roles (e.g., vaccine coordinator, mentor)
Familiarity with Epic EMR software
