As a Float Pool Medical Assistant II, you’ll enjoy variety and flexibility by supporting multiple practices across our network. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and values exposure to different specialties and workflows. You’ll perform delegated clinical and administrative functions under the direct supervision of providers and practice managers, ensuring seamless patient care wherever you’re needed.
What You’ll Do:
Provide patient care in person, via telephone, and telehealth under provider supervision.
Administer medications, treatments, immunizations, and perform point-of-care testing.
Collect and screen patient history and communicate findings to providers.
Document care activities accurately in the medical record.
Assist with pre-visit preparation, patient outreach, and coordination of preventive services.
Perform administrative duties such as medical records and patient service tasks.
Serve as a mentor and informal leader for clinical support staff.
Adapt quickly to different practice settings and workflows.
Maintain required certifications and attend ongoing education programs.
Who You Are / Requirements:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assisting program and clinical externship required. Associate’s degree preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Current BLS/CPR certification and certification/registration by AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT required.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a clinical medical assistant required; 3 years preferred. Experience in expanded roles (e.g., vaccine coordinator, mentor) preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and office workflow.
Proficient in specimen collection, medication administration, vital signs, and history taking.
Excellent interpersonal communication, time management, and customer service skills.
Ability to adapt to change and work as part of a team across multiple locations.
Basic computer literacy; Epic EMR experience preferred.
