About the Job:
The Peer Recovery Coach at The Doorway of Greater Nashua provides critical support to individuals with opioid use disorder and other substance use disorders. This role serves as a bridge between patients, healthcare providers, social services, and the community—offering outreach, education, advocacy, and direct recovery coaching. You’ll work both in the clinic and out in the community, helping patients navigate treatment resources, insurance enrollment, recovery housing, and ongoing monitoring throughout their recovery journey.

What You’ll Do:

  • Identify and assess patients in crisis alongside provider staff.

  • Perform intake screenings and document treatment history, needs, and recovery goals.

  • Connect patients to treatment services and community resources, including scheduling and transportation.

  • Assist with insurance applications and Medicaid enrollment.

  • Support patients in accessing recovery housing and respite care.

  • Provide ongoing monitoring to track recovery progress.

  • Conduct outreach at community events and partner locations.

  • Distribute Narcan to patients, families, and community partners.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with 42 CFR Part 2.

Who You Are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Valid driver’s license (must be maintained during employment).

  • At least 1 year of experience in the mental health or substance use disorder field.

  • Knowledge of local community resources and population needs.

  • Understanding of substance use disorder through lived experience or close personal exposure.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
