About the Job

The Intravenous Specialist assesses and evaluates patients’ health status related to vascular access and IV therapy needs and develops individualized plans of care. This role serves as a clinical expert in vascular access, utilizing advanced vein visualization and ultrasound technology to place peripheral IVs, midlines, and PICC lines. The Intravenous Specialist collaborates closely with clinical staff, provides education and training, and supports high-quality patient care across the facility.

What You’ll Do

  • Operate ultrasound technology for successful midline and PICC line placement.

  • Assess patient vascular access needs and prioritize care accordingly.

  • Utilize vein visualization technology to support vascular access procedures.

  • Maintain expert-level peripheral IV insertion skills.

  • Function independently while managing patient and departmental priorities.

  • Utilize facility information technology systems effectively for documentation.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, physicians, and clinical staff.

  • Educate and instruct clinical staff on vascular access best practices and techniques.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support safe and effective IV therapy.

Who You Are / Requirements

  • Current New Hampshire licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).

  • Certification by the Vascular Access Certification Corporation (VACC) within one year of hire.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of related clinical experience.

  • Demonstrated expertise in vascular access and intravenous therapy practices.

  • Strong communication, teaching, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize patient care needs.
