About the Job
The Patient Service Representative serves as a key member of the front desk and administrative support team within our Rehab/Clinical areas. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while managing patient-facing and clerical operations including registration, scheduling, referrals, documentation, and payment collection.
What You’ll Do
Greet, direct, and register patients in a professional and compassionate manner
Answer incoming telephone calls and provide general information
Schedule appointments and enter, track, and manage referrals
Collect and accurately process co-payments and daily batches
Obtain, verify, and update patient demographic and insurance information
Scan, index, and file documentation within the medical record
Process insurance requirements and communicate effectively with patients and staff
Schedule interpreter services, including live interpreters and translation technologies
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality regulations
Stay current with EPIC upgrades, policies, and procedures
Participate in process improvement initiatives
Identify safety concerns and notify appropriate personnel
Provide back-up support to other administrative staff as needed
Attend mandatory training and in-services
Who You Are / Requirements
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of reception tasks, clinic workflows, and office procedures
Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Professional demeanor with a caring, customer-service–focused approach
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of one year of customer service experience
Understanding of medical terminology
