About the Job:
The Registered Nurse – Ambulatory is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in an outpatient setting. Working collaboratively with providers and interdisciplinary teams, this role supports clinical operations, patient education, and care coordination across in-person, telephone triage, and telehealth encounters.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver professional nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across in-person, telephone, and telehealth settings
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and care teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients on medications, disease management, wellness, and preventive care
- Support providers during exams, procedures, and treatments
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments; perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection
- Conduct pre-visit planning to ensure readiness for patient encounters and identify care gaps
- Accurately document all care within the electronic medical record
- Delegate tasks appropriately and provide guidance to clinical support staff
- Respond to urgent and emergent patient situations following established protocols
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, safety, and infection control standards
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for peers and new team members
Who You Are / Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing program (BSN preferred)
- Active Registered Nurse license in applicable state(s) (NH, NLC, MA, or eligible)
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- 1+ year of professional nursing experience preferred (ambulatory care experience a plus)
- Strong clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and assessment skills
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient engagement abilities
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with EMR systems and standard office technology
- Certification in Ambulatory Care Nursing (RN-BC) or specialty certification preferred
