About the Job:
The Senior Accountant supports the Manager of Accounting in overseeing financial operations and reporting. This role is responsible for monthly reporting of key financial components, including groups of entities (e.g., VNA companies), departmental groupings (administrative, clinical, ancillary), and investment portfolios.
What You’ll Do:
- Process cash transfers, ACHs, and wire transfers within and outside system bank accounts
- Prepare and reconcile detailed schedules of balance sheet accounts monthly
- Input recurring, standard, and manual journal entries
- Monitor cash balances and reconcile bank statements for multiple entities
- Reconcile main checking accounts
- Prepare complete balance sheets and income statements; analyze actual vs. budgeted figures
- Record accruals and deferrals as needed
- Participate in interim and year-end audits; prepare audit schedules and liaise with auditors
- Assist departments in understanding financial policies and procedures for accurate postings
Who You Are / Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent education and experience
- Experience: 3–5 years of accounting experience; healthcare accounting experience preferred
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices in public accounting
- Skills: Proficiency in MS Office; Workday experience is a plus
