About the Job:
As a member of the Patient Care Services team, the Clinical Assistant will coordinate the administrative functions of the assigned patient care area and will facilitate patient flow. The Clinical Assistant functions as an area receptionist and will collect and document basic patient care information as delegated; will prepare and maintain patient records with appropriate data elements; and will perform basic patient care activities and related services, while maintaining a safe patient care environment. The Clinical Assistant is responsible for anticipating and responding to patient needs and will monitor patients for safety.

- Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Anticipate and respond to patient needs.
- Coordinate administrative functions of patient area.
- Maintain a safe patient care environment.
- Perform basic patient care activities.
- Utilize computer systems proficiently.
- Must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to patients, physicians, clinical staff, families and other employees accurately, loudly and/or quickly.
- Must be able to hear spoken communication from other team members, who may be wearing masks.
- Must have good organizational skills and be able to multi-task, carrying out multiple commands at once.
- Ability to give and understand clear and direct directions.
- Ability to float to other units as needed.
Who You Are:
- High School degree or equivalent preferred.
- Current New Hampshire Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) license required.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to comprehend and communicate in English.
- Ability to achieve the following competencies:
Within 30 days:
- Monitor patient for safety
Within 90 days:
- Basic Life Support
- Health Unit Coordinator competencies
- Glucometer testing
- Safe patient handing devices
- Bladder scanning (if applicable for department)
- Orthopedic devices and soft goods (if applicable for department)
- Heel sticks (if applicable for department)
- Hearing screening (if applicable for department)
- Congenital heart screen (CHD) (if applicable for department)
- EKG (if applicable)
