About the Job:
The Manager of People and Culture will be a pivotal member of the Southern New Hampshire Health (SNHH) leadership team, responsible for overseeing and enhancing employee relations within the entire organization, including Foundation Medical Partners. This role is essential in ensuring that SNHH's workplace environment remains conducive to high employee morale, productivity, and satisfaction while upholding the organization’s core values and commitment to delivering outstanding healthcare services.
As the Manager of People and Culture, you will act as the go-to expert for HR matters related to employee relations, guiding management and staff through performance-related issues, conflict resolution, and workplace challenges. Your role will involve ensuring that all HR policies and procedures are up to date, legally compliant, and aligned with the organization’s goals, while promoting a positive and inclusive work culture across all departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations Management: Serve as a key point of contact for resolving employee relations issues and ensuring effective communication between staff and leadership. Provide day-to-day guidance to business partners and managers on matters relating to employee performance, grievance resolution, and conflict mediation. Handle sensitive employee matters with the utmost discretion, professionalism, and empathy.
Performance Management: Actively support the performance management process, offering coaching and advice to managers on employee evaluations, performance documentation, feedback delivery, and career development. Work collaboratively with leaders to implement strategies that address employee performance gaps and promote professional growth.
Policy Development & Compliance: Assist in the creation, implementation, and enforcement of HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance with federal and state labor laws, including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, and EEO. Regularly assess the effectiveness of policies and practices, ensuring they are aligned with best practices in human resources and organizational goals.
Investigation & Corrective Actions: Lead investigations into complaints, misconduct, and performance issues to ensure fair, thorough, and timely resolutions. Work alongside the Executive Director of People and Culture, Chief People Officer, and legal counsel when necessary to ensure that all findings and corrective actions are documented and properly executed.
Training & Development: Design and deliver training sessions on a variety of employee relations topics, including conflict resolution, performance management, and compliance with workplace policies. Help employees and managers develop skills for navigating challenging workplace situations while fostering a culture of mutual respect and collaboration.
Employee Satisfaction & Retention: Collaborate with leadership to identify and address employee satisfaction concerns and areas of improvement. Collect and analyze feedback from exit interviews to identify trends that may indicate areas for organizational improvement. Proactively develop strategies to increase employee retention, improve morale, and reduce turnover.
Consultative Role: Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders on a variety of employee relations issues, such as terminations, restructuring, leave management, and workplace accommodations. Provide expert guidance on managing complex employee relations matters, ensuring that actions are consistent with organizational policies and legal requirements.
Workplace Culture: Champion initiatives that enhance workplace culture, foster inclusivity, and promote a positive employee experience. Work with management and other key stakeholders to maintain a workplace that supports employee well-being and organizational success.
Strategic Workforce Planning: Partner with senior leadership to assist in workforce planning, succession planning, and the implementation of employee development programs. Help guide managers in identifying high-potential employees and supporting their career growth.
HR Systems & Tools: Utilize HR software systems (such as Workday, UKG, or OnBase) to track employee relations trends, manage performance reviews, and ensure compliance with organizational HR processes. Continuously develop and refine tools that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the HR department.

Who You Are / Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: Minimum of 7 years in Human Resources with a growing scope of responsibilities.
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong written and oral communication skills, and a deep understanding of employment laws.
Preferred: Certification in Human Resources (PHR) or related certifications.
