About the Job:
The Office Coordinator will provide administrative services to Cardiac Rehab including support, patient reception, and telephone communication. The incumbent will demonstrate the ability to think independently and work collaboratively with members of the Cardiac Rehab team.
What You’ll Do:
Perform administrative tasks that promote the effective and efficient function of the department.
Prepare new patient charts including insurance, history, and authorizations and collate charts for approval. Purge patient charts monthly for scanning.
Schedule patient appointments; perform follow-up calls for no shows and cancellations.
Process authorizations and monitor charts for authorization(s) needed.
Maintain and order office supplies.
Maintain and update patient database(s).
Maintain a clean and organized environment.
Communicate clearly when answering telephone calls, recording messages and responding to inquiries to ensure message accuracy.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work must be performed on-site.
Communicate in a mature and respectful manner with employees, patients/family members, and other healthcare disciplines to promote a positive work environment.
Maintain confidentiality of reported and recorded information related to department flow.
Who You Are:
Education:High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:A minimum of two (2) years of customer service or related experience required. EPIC experience preferred.
Knowledge:Familiarity with medical terminology. Knowledge of billing and CPT coding.
Skills:Basic computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills.
Abilities:Ability to multitask. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Ability to manage patient appointments and prioritize assignments.
