About the Job:
As a member of the Surgical Services team, the Perioperative Support Services Technician will identify and collect sterile instrumentation and equipment for surgical procedures. The incumbent will assist the surgical team with intraoperative procedures and room turnover; and will respond appropriately to emergency situations, working under the direction of the surgical team.
What You’ll Do:
- Work must be performed on-site.
- Assist the surgical team with intra-operative procedures.
- Must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to patients, physicians, clinical staff, families and other employees accurately, loudly and/or quickly.
- Must be able to hear spoken communication from other team members, who may be wearing masks.
- Must have good organizational skills and be able to multi-task, carrying out multiple commands at once.
- Ability to give and understand clear and direct directions.
- Ability to float to other units as needed.
Who You Are:
- High School degree or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of basic medical equipment and instrumentation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to achieve the following competencies:
