Registered Nurse – Interventional Radiology

About the Job:

Assesses, implements, and evaluates outcomes of nursing care in the Interventional Radiology Department. Coordinates all aspects or nursing care and provides technical/nursing expertise on Radiology procedures to the interdisciplinary team. Leads and collaborates with colleagues to achieve the best outcomes.

What You’ll Do:

Assesses, implements, and evaluates outcomes of nursing care for an individual patient or group of patients utilizing the nursing process.

  • Assesses patients considering developmental, biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, cultural, self-care, educational and discharge planning needs
  • Mutually plans care with patient and family
  • Implements evidence-based and culturally-appropriate interventions and evaluate outcomes in collaboration with patient and family. 
  • Consistently re-evaluates nursing orders in the provision of patient care
  • Consistently incorporates discharge patient education into the documented plan of care.
  • Coordinates all aspects or nursing care and provides technical/nursing expertise on interventional Radiology procedures to interdisciplinary team.
  • Utilizes evidence-based standards of practice and safety
  • Monitors oximetry, performs hemodynamic monitoring, provides arrhythmia detection, performs computer visualization and keyboard processing
  • Provides advance cardiac life support and administration of IV pharmacological therapies
  • Starts IV’s, draws blood and verifies medication orders
  • Communicates with patients and family in an open, positive, and therapeutic manner
  • Includes patient’s condition and response to care in documentation
  • Medical record entries are accurate and timely and meet requirements
  • Handoffs are safe and accurately reflect the patient’s condition
  • Utilizes computer resources effectively
  • Incorporates relationship-based care and comfort strategies into daily practice
  • Leads and collaborates with colleagues to achieve the best outcomes
  • Responds effectively during an emergency or crisis
  • Adheres to the ANA and other specialty nursing code of ethics as posted on each area
  • Performs in the role of preceptor, if applicable
  • Involved in process improvement and safety initiatives

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs all aspects of nursing care during Radiology exams and procedures
  • Communicates effectively with others within the department as well as outside of the department
  • Demonstrates proficiency with computer systems
  • Respects confidential nature of patient information and abides by HIPAA laws and regulations
  • Demonstrates compassion and patience in all customer interactions
  • Uses patient safety equipment effectively to move patients

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing required
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of New Hampshire required.
  • Two-to-four years of experience in ICU/CCU or Emergency Services highly preferred
